Numb and not thinking at all can be very relaxing, and it can help to restore the soul a bit. I have done this many times over the years and just consider it a "mind flush". Things just get too overwhelming when we can't do anything to change them. I don't want to see you have to be without Jim any more than I don't want to see Rachel without Hannah, Laura without Leonard. It is all too overwhelming and I hurt for all of you.
